David De Gea has come under fire for his performances
The goalkeeper has come under fire in recent weeks for his poor run of form that has seen him at fault for goals in big matches. He was at fault for a Barcelona goal as they were dumped out of theChampions League. He then should have done better with a Leroy Sane shot in the Manchester derby midweek as they were beaten 2-0.AgainstChelsea, De Gea palmed Antonio Rudigers shot straight into the path of Marcos Alonso who was able to then finish from a tight angle. He is now being compared to Loris Karius, who made errors in the Champions League final for Liverpool against Real Madrid. The comparison is perhaps a little unfair considering De Gea has been one of, if not the best United players over the last few seasons. There have been calls for the goalkeeper to be benched, though, with Ryan Mason telling talkSPORT it could be time to take him out of the firing line.
